Monument to Jaime Roldos Aguilera

 

History

 The monuments pays tribute to the ecuadorian president Dr. Jaime Roldós Aguilera, born in Guayquil on November 5th of 1941, and perished in a plane crash, while he exercised his power on May 24 of 1981, on the Huayrapungo Hill, close to Célica, Loja.

Roldós, arrived to the presidency by popular election, giving the democratic system back to the country after a decade of civil and military dictation. 

Exercised his term from August 10th of 1979 until the day of his death, governing a total of a year, nine months and fourteen days.
